About Sharmin

The place was called Khoone Ghadimi (The Old House) and it was Sharmin's childhood house.

He dedicated the house to this charity after the death of his father, Pro. Mohammad Hosein Meimandi Nejad. I will talk about this great man later.

It was an intersting place, and somehow magical if I can say! A lot of  young people were there and they were all trying to help. But what exactly did they do?

These students who were from all the universities in Tehran, were gathered everynight in Ramadan trying to collect money and buy food and other neccesities for a monthly needs of a poor family.

I went there for the exact same reason and I saw Sharmin for the first time.

We were standing somewhere around the yard when Sharmin entered the house. He started to welcome everybody and then he went to talk to his friends about the current running stuffs.

I couldn't think who this man is and what will he change in my life and my other friends' lives.

It was the year 2004 that I got in touch with an NGO, "The First Big Brother", or as it is called in Iran, Jamiat-e Imam Ali (Imam Ali Society)

It was a night in the holy Muslim's month of Ramadan.

One of my friends asked me to accompany him to the center of this organization.

First, I hesitated to accept but I made a deal to myself and when it became clear that the deal is now in progress!! (Frankly, I can not remember it!!!!) I accepted to go with him.

This was the first time I ever saw Sharmin.

I want to talk about a person here, a person who has been the most influential person on my life since about 5 years ago.

Sharmin Meimandi Nejad is a playwright, theatre director, university teacher and the establisher of the non-governmental organization called Imam Ali Society or The First Big Brother
